Strategic Buyer for Direct Materials

Our client is a German automotive supplier and was founded in Sarajevo in 2021. The groups products include transmission engine & brake components which are installed at customers such as VW Audi Continental and BMW. Worldwide the group has over 400 employees.

Summary:

As a Strategic Buyer for Materials and Components in the automotive industry you will be responsible for procuring highquality materials and components to support production goals and maximize supply chain efficiency. You play a crucial role in ensuring the availability of quality and costeffective raw materials and parts to enhance the companys competitiveness.

Responsibilities:

1. Supplier Management:

• Identify evaluate and select suppliers based on quality standards costs delivery reliability and innovation capability.
• Build and maintain longterm business relationships with suppliers to achieve continuous improvements in quality cost and lead times.
• Negotiate supply contracts and terms to ensure competitive pricing and service levels in accordance with internal stakeholders and customer demands

2. Procurement Strategy and Planning

• Develop and implement a strategic procurement strategy for materials and components to support company objectives.
• Monitor market trends and procurement conditions to proactively respond to changes.
• Collaborate with other departments such as engineering and production to understand and meet requirements for materials and components.

3. Cost Management and Budgeting

• Responsible for cost management throughout the procurement process and ensuring optimal use of the procurement budget.
• Identify costsaving opportunities and efficiency enhancements through supplier negotiations material substitutions or process optimizations.

4.Quality and Risk Management

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in business administration engineering or a related field.
• Several years of experience in strategic purchasing preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of supplier management negotiation and contract management

• Analytical skills to evaluate procurement data and market trends.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with various internal departments and external suppliers.
• Language skill requirements: English; German is a big plus
• Ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritize in a dynamic environment.
