About the Role

Our partner company has an open position for an Area Sales Manager in South Nyanza region. You should be a proactive strategic leader with experience in managing sales teams. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating with distributors leading sales representatives and driving sales growth in the region. You should have excellent skills in market analysis and the ability to identify new opportunities and develop crossselling strategies to maximize revenue. Moreover your strong negotiation skills will be crucial in optimizing offers with distributors and implementing innovative solutions to enhance overall sales performance and market share.




Requirements

What you will do

Leadership and Team Management:

  • You will be in charge of managing a team of sales representatives working in different areas of Nairobi. You will be responsible for coordinating the activities and operations of the sales team attached to various distributors within the Nairobi region.

  • You will be tasked with developing and implementing strategies for route planning for your team and ensure that sales operations are carried out efficiently.

  • You will oversee sales representatives set targets track performance analyze sales reports reallocate targets as necessary and document team performance.

Market Analysis and Strategy Development:

  • You are proficient in understanding and reading the market particularly in the GT (General Trade) sector which enables you to ensure that you boost sales in the Nairobi region.

  • You will be responsible oversee a product portfolio of over 100 SKUs with a focus on pushing the slowmoving SKUs for optimal sales performance.

  • You will be responsible for negotiating offers with distributors to maximize sales opportunities.

  • You will be responsible for identifying new clients and markets to expand business opportunities. This will involve utilizing data analysis identifying trends assessing product movement and developing strategies for improving sales performance. Additionally you will be tasked with innovating crossselling strategies for SKUs with low sales to maximize revenue.

Business Development and Innovation:

  • You should take a proactive approach by actively seeking new clients and markets.

  • You are going to work together with distributors and the sales team to develop and market struggling SKUs. Your ability to come up with innovative crossselling and promotional strategies for slowmoving SKUs will be crucial in utilizing your creativity and market insights to create effective plans for boosting the performance of these SKUs in the market.

  • You will be responsible for implementing creative solutions to improve sales performance and increase market share.

About You

Must Haves:

  • You have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration Marketing or a related field.

  • You possess a minimum of 46 years of experience as an Area Sales Manager having led a team preferably within the FMCG industry.

  • You have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building highperforming teams.

  • You have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate coach and mentor a diverse team.

  • You possess strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • You have indepth knowledge of the market particularly the Nairobi area and its distributors.

  • You have experience in managing slowmoving SKUs and driving sales growth.
