HM Note: This hybrid role is three (3) days in office

Responsibilities:

• Undertakes the design of hosting technology solutions based on the clients service specifications standards policies best practices and cost models in order to meet client application business requirement and project/initiative deliverables.

General Skills:

• Knowledge of integrated networking technologies mainframe midrange server enterprise storage and SAN and personal computer system technologies
• Knowledge of related best practices OPS directory/messaging standards standard facilities infrastructure/architecture management facility service delivery processes infrastructures policies procedures and direction cost models and procurement processes

Specific Skills:

• Proven experience of working with data as well as the related functional applications
• Conversant with Power BI Design / Accessibility Standards works with business to drive out KPIs and assists with visualization and impactful insights leveraging knowledge of business domain data to drive out business needs using Power BI Proof of Concepts/mockups.
• Demonstrated experience with capturing source to target requirements supporting business rules and dataflow requirements comfortable navigating databases using SQL to conduct analysis in support of feasibility and documentation.
• Demonstrated experience with: Microsoft Azure Data Factory Services SSIS SSAS SSRS Power BI DataStage Quality Stage Visual Studio Team Foundation Services SQL Server Management Studio
• An asset if the resource also has Erwin Data Modeler Power Designer (Handson Development Role)
• Proven ability to guide the architecture leveraging Azure cloud services including effective and nbsp;standard and nbsp;use of Microsoft Stack tools and services critical for the integrity quality and pace of delivery.
• Demonstrated knowledge and deep MS stack experience (10 Years) with at least 4 years with Microsoft Azure Data Factory experience
• Demonstrated and nbsp;experience with data ingestion from multiple sources staging and data cleansing including dimensional modeling and data model architecture and design aligned with data standards and analytics needs of various stakeholders. Includes creation of data warehouses views cubes and other data services products.

Knowledge Transfer

Transfer From Solution Development /Solutions Designer / Senior to Project Manager

When Knowledge Will Be Transferred:

• Knowledge transfer must be completed one week prior to the end of the project or one week prior to the consultant leaving the ministry.

What Knowledge Will Be Transferred:

• All deliverables including design/supporting/release/training documents must be checked into designated version control repositories (for example SharePoint). All final documents and working drafts related to project requirements or solution design must be stored on designated project repositories (for example SharePoint site HPQC TFS)
• Project manager and designated ministry staff must be regularly informed in writing (by email) of where documentation has been stored and must be provided a minimum of one walkthrough of all documentation as part of the final knowledge transfer activities.

How Knowledge Will Be Transferred:

• Knowledge will be transferred through 1 on 1 sessions emails document updates and document review with the team.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Technical Experience 35%

• Experience with data architecture designs and technologies for BI solutions for both onpremise and cloud solutions
• Experience leading projects that involve technology upgrade/migration to Microsoft BI Suite; determine which part of existing solution needs to be migrated or rebuilt
• 10 years of hands on experience ETL development experience using and nbsp;SSIS / ADF in a data warehousing environment or large data migration; Working experience in debugging mappings transformations and source qualifier files and Unit testing the newly developed ETL components
• Demonstrated knowledge and deep MS stack experience (10 Years) with at least 4 years with Microsoft Azure Data Factory experience
• Experience with: Microsoft Azure Data Factory Services SSIS SSAS SSRS Power BI DataStage Quality Stage Visual Studio Team Foundation Services SQL Server Management Studio
• An asset if the resource can demonstrate direct experience with Erwin Data Modeler Power Designer (Handson Development Role)
• Experience with rolebased access control implementation such as with AzureAD
• Experience working with Oracle and MSSQL databases
• Extensive experience with source control and environment management
• Experience with creating documentations and nbsp;such as data dictionary and data source to target mapping; provide feedback/direction to team on how existing documentations and nbsp;can be improved
• Experience using PowerDesigner to review data models as well as make changes and generate DDLs
• Experience with data ingestion from multiple sources staging and data cleansing including dimensional modeling and data model architecture and design aligned with data standards and analytics needs of various stakeholders. Includes creation of data warehouses views cubes and other data services products.
• Experience in developing the Application Code package using tools such as Azure DevOps. Build automation experience is an asset

• Demonstrates experience leading discussions with stakeholders to elicit requirements developing/consulting on options and solutions facilitating the resolution of I and amp;IT and Business issues. Ability to drill down on business pain points and determine the right solution rather than delivering only the item thats being requested by stakeholders
• Demonstrates development and design experience with SDLC processes Agile and Waterfall methodologies

Public Sector Experience: 10%

• Previous public sector experience in an organization of equivalent size or complexity in Public Service
• Demonstrates experience designing and developing applications that comply with GOITS standards and general processes would be an asset;

Must Haves:

1. Microsoft BI stack including Power BI for analytic reporting solution experience including ETL experience and experience migrating solutions from Oracle/Cognos/Informatica BI
2. Leading technical team including BI dashboard developers and assisting architects with documentation
3. Experience with Rscripts and converting requirements from R Scripts into ETL Scripts.
4. 10 years of handson experience ETL development experience using SSIS / ADF in a data warehousing environment or large data migration; Working experience in debugging mappings transformations and source qualifier files and Unit testing the newly developed ETL components.
