- Monitoring and control of all plant and equipment on a continuous basis.
- Responding to alarms by taking appropriate the actions in a timely manner.
- Execute plant shutdown and start-up procedures as required within the allocated timeframe.
- Follow processes and procedures to enable efficient plant operation, including utilisation of technical documentation and drawings.
- Ensure that the plant meets its generating requirements whilst operating in a safe and efficient manner.
- Supporting the Plant Management team in the implementation and management of initiatives such as Asset Management, Risk Based Culture and Change Management at site.
- Supporting the development and execution of operational associated KPIs, strategic and business objectives.
- Support and assist with the production of and continuous development of operational excellence strategies and concepts to ensure alignment with Siemens Energy and the client’s business objectives.
- Utilize computerized Plant Management System WebBFS for Shift Log, Fault Notification, Work Order and Work Plan Module, Parts Requisition.
- First line fault finding and maintenance activities on shift-by-shift basis.
- Support of Maintenance Department activities when required.
- Executing the PH, Conductivity measurements & hydrazine measurement and dosing
- Undertake technical training courses and qualifications as required with the aim of continued personal development.
- To work within the guidelines of the company’s IBMS and quality systems.
- Development and implementation of safe systems of work whilst carrying out the duties of an Authorised Person under the Midelec Power Plant Safety Rules.
- Support Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode Effects Analysis processes into site occurrences and incidents as required.
- Deputise for the Operation Shift Charge Engineer as and when required.
- Support and assist the Department and Station Management team in other activities as and when required.
