Job Description:

Our client a leading consulting engineering firm with projects across Africa is currently searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in the Western Cape. The selected candidate will be responsible for mechanical engineering design in the field of petrochemical projects. Key focus of mechanical engineering calculations designs drawings solutions to engineering problems preparation of reports client liaison construction knowledge and commissioning.

Responsibilities / Skills:

• Proficient piping and pumping system understanding
• Capable of designing mechanical systems and knowledgeable in hydraulics
• Skilled in preparing conceptual and detailed designs including drawings calculations schedules cost estimates and datasheets
• Familiar with tender processes for mechanical projects
• Experienced in construction and installation of mechanical systems
• Knowledgeable about mechanical engineering codes like ASME API and SANS
• Able to travel for site inspections meetings and liaising with clients
• Competent in commissioning mechanical systems mentoring junior staff and assisting in project and staff management

Requirements:

• B.Sc. (Mechanical Engineering) or BEng
• PrEng advantageous
• 8 – 10 years of experience in the Petrochemical Engineering field
