Role Overview:
As a Senior Data Warehouse Administrator you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the companys columnar data warehouse environment integrating NoSQL databases and overseeing Kubernetes orchestration. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance security and scalability of the data infrastructure while collaborating with crossfunctional teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize the columnar data warehouse environment including resource pool configuration and subcluster administration.
- Administer user accounts permissions and security audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Integrate and manage NoSQL databases including MongoDB cluster and replica set management scaling and sharding.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to optimize database performance in a containerized environment using Kubernetes orchestration.
- Create documentation provide user training and raise awareness of best practices for database management and utilization.
- Perform performance tuning backup and recovery procedures to maintain data integrity and availability.
- Set up monitoring tools to track system health resource utilization and performance metrics and establish proactive alerting mechanisms to address potential issues promptly.
Experience Required:
- 7 years of work experience in database administration with at least 23 years of relevant experience in columnar database technologies (e.g. Yellowbrick Vertica Snowflake Redshift).
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator focusing on columnar data warehousing NoSQL databases and Kubernetes.
- Strong SQL skills and expertise in query optimization.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB Cassandra or Couchbase.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes orchestration and containerized deployment.
- Knowledge of resource pool configuration and subcluster management.
- Expertise in database security best practices and backup and recovery strategies.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database and Kubernetes issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective crossfunctional teamwork.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Handson working experience with cloud platforms like AWS GCP Azure or Private Cloud.
NicetoHaves:
- Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Database Specialty MongoDB Certified Database Administrator Kubernetes Certified Administrator) are advantageous.
