Are you passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of families and children? We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to join our Early Help and School Readiness team. This role is centered around supporting families with children aged 0-19, ensuring they have access to Early Help and School Ready Services within our locality hub or even out in the broader community. Our mission is to empower these families, helping them achieve improved health, education, and social outcomes.

As a key member of our team, you will work flexibly to cater to the unique needs of children and their families, always ensuring a warm, welcoming, and supportive environment. Your role will involve offering advice, guidance, and support to parents and caregivers, emphasising the importance of positive play and early learning experiences for their children. Moreover, you'll be instrumental in aiding parents and caregivers in accessing education, training, personal development, and employment opportunities, working closely with other members of the Early Help Locality Teams.

Taking on lead responsibilities as directed, you'll play a pivotal role in implementing aspects of the Early Help Action Plan. This role is not just about individual contribution; it's about being part of a child-focused team, collaborating with staff, volunteers, and other organizations to holistically support children and their families. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the overarching vision, ethos, and aims of Early Help and School Readiness. Tasks

  1. Family and Child Needs Identification:
  • Prioritise and identify the needs of families and children, especially focusing on "hard to reach" families.
  • Lead in planning tailored activities, including targeted stay and play sessions and play in the home, ensuring each child's developmental milestones are met and individual needs are catered for.
  1. Assessment and Records:
  • Maintain comprehensive assessment records of each child's progress in alignment with the EYFS.
  1. Community Empowerment:
  • Empower parents to engage in community activities.
  • Develop connections between families with similar interests or needs where suitable.
  1. Child Safeguarding:
  • Remain vigilant in safeguarding children from potential harm.
  • Promptly record any concerns about a child or children and report them to the Family Support Team Manager or MASH.
  1. Early Help Assessment Participation:
  • Actively participate in any Early Help Assessment procedures involving identified children, young people, and their families.
  1. Information Facilitation:
  • Collaborate with the team to provide information promoting early learning, health, and well-being using diverse media approaches.
  1. Service Evaluation:
  • Regularly evaluate services to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Provide insights on the impact of services on children's outcomes.
  1. Health and Safety Implementation:
  • All staff members are accountable for the execution of the Health and Safety Policy as it pertains to them, their colleagues, and any other potentially affected individuals.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of health and safety arrangements and systems, making necessary improvements.
  1. Flexibility in Working Hours:
  • Be prepared to work outside of regular hours when necessary.

Requirements

NVQ level 3 in Social Care, Health, Community Development, working with
young people, Childcare or equivalent

In conclusion, this position offers a hybrid working environment, with opportunities to work from home and across various localities, primarily based at Silver Court, 13 Silver Court, Brownhills. The assignment duration is 3 months, with a commitment of 37 hours weekly, including Saturdays.
