Research and Development Engineer (m/f/x) at Nanogami

We are pioneering the next-generation biochip for research, diagnostics, and personalized medicine. Our biochip platform offers ultra-high feature density, modularity, and adaptability to integrate and enhance sequencing, transcriptomics, and proteomics applications. To realize this vision, SPRIND - Germany's Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation funds Nanogami as one of six projects for the next five years.

Tasks

Role Overview:

We are looking for a driven Engineer (m/f/x) to work on a novel nanotechnology application as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will develop instruments enabling high-throughput workflows based on the controlled placement of single molecules, as well as custom tools for the development and production of these devices. Your work will directly lead to impactful real-world uses.

What you will do:

• Develop custom tools for R&D and production lines
• Develop instruments for single-molecule analysis
• Design device components, write control software, and build prototypes
• Support nanostructure functionality development considering device specification

Requirements

• Master in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a similar field
• Experience with liquid handling or microfluidics
• Experience in building devices or machines
• Experience with Python
• Experience with PCB design
• Creative, proactive, and results-oriented
• Excited about working in a fast-growing startup
• Fluent in English
