Position: Sr. Site reliability engineer with ***AWS cert FedRAMP & On call support***

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 Months

Exp: 10 years

Description: This role involves ensuring the reliability security and performance of cloud infrastructure and applications with a focus on availability and customer satisfaction.

Skills Required:

Cloud Services: Proficient in AWS services like Elastic Beanstalk CloudFormation IAM etc.

Infrastructure as Code: Skilled in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.

Scripting: Proficiency in Python Bash and PowerShell for automation tasks.

CI/CD: Experience with Jenkins for automating build test and deployment processes.

Version Control: Proficient in Git for source code management.

Security and Compliance: Understanding of security standards (FedRAMP PCI HIPAA).

Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with CloudWatch Grafana Prometheus Solarwinds PagerDuty.

Cloud Security: Knowledge of implementing security best practices and tools like Twistlock Tenable Nessus.

OnCall Support: Ability to respond promptly to alerts troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed.

Customer Focus: Ensuring 24x7 availability of SaaS products hosting customer data.

Change Management: Experience with infrastructure changes upgrades and change tickets.

Communication: Strong communication skills for collaborating with teams effectively.

Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

OnCall: SaaS products will host customer data and will need to be available to customers 24x7. If a monitoring solution detects an availability issue it will page an oncall engineer who will need to respond within a given SLA and be able to log in and troubleshoot the environment to bring any services up. Oncall typically has an escalation routine where if the tier 1 engineer does not answer within a given time it escalates to tier 2 then to multiple levels of management after that. Typically we use the service PagerDuty that allows setting up these levels of escalation.

With oncall typically comes an on duty responsibility to field any internal requests related to access or availability of the systems that are not being handled by someone currently carrying the pager.

Time on the job will involve managing infrastructure created with the above tools planning for upgrades monthly scanning and patching creating and executing change tickets working with others in engineering compliance and change management.
