Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented Release Train Engineer for a contract role with one of our esteemed clients in Washington D.C. As a Release Train Engineer (RTE) you will play a crucial role in facilitating and optimizing the Program Increment (PI) Planning process and supporting the Agile Release Train (ART) throughout its execution. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

PI Planning Facilitation:

  • Facilitate the PI Planning process ensuring smooth logistics and readiness of ART backlog.
  • Guide the ART in prioritization techniques such as WSJF (Weighted Shortest Job First).
  • Lead the 2day inperson PI planning event to set clear objectives and alignment with enterprise strategy and OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).

Support PI Execution:

  • Track progress and key metrics including ART Predictability Velocity and Cycle Time.
  • Facilitate ART synchronization events to ensure alignment and collaboration among various stakeholders.
  • Assist in ART backlog refinement and promote DevOps practices for continuous delivery.

Coach and Mentor:

  • Provide coaching to align with enterprise strategy and OKRs.
  • Mentor Scrum Masters Team Coaches and various ART roles in Agile practices and events.
  • Assist Business Owners in understanding their roles and assigning business value effectively.

Optimize Flow:

  • Establish pull systems and flow measures to optimize the delivery of value.
  • Conduct value stream mapping and work towards reducing crossteam dependencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through AgileHealth assessments and Inspect & Adapt events.

Promote Builtin Quality:

  • Promote quality practices in collaboration with Product Owners and Communities of Practice.
  • Facilitate SAFe core competency selfassessments and collaborate with LeanAgile transformation teams.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Collaborate with the Value Management Office and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Foster an environment of mutual influence problem identification and decisionmaking support.
  • Encourage personal development and growth among team members.
