Job Title: Production Laboratory Specialist

Duration: 6 Months

Shift: 6-3:30 monday - Thursday, 7-11 Friday, rotating Sunday

Job Description:

• Responsible for propagation and maintenance of all associated microbial organisms for the manufacture of the Quality Control Organism product lines:

• CultiLoop and QuantiCult. You will work with the Dispensing staff to carry out the production process by closely following Standard Operating Procedures and Manufacturing Instruction documents.

• This position requires following cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and working in a fast paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and release manufacturing paperwork to ensure scheduled organisms are inoculated and harvested on appropriate days.

• Receive and generate paperwork to process and store all new stocks in a timely manner.

• Maintain inventory for the production lab and media prep lab.

• Participate in a weekend rotation for starting and inoculating organisms for production.

• Rigorously follow all Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions to maintain a clean and orderly work environment that is accurately monitored and within calibration. Report deviations to management.

• Perform all work activities in a safe manner including wearing personal protective equipment as needed. Maintain a safe and clutter free work area.

• In addition, other duties may be assigned as required.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Biology, Microbiology, Virology, Biotechnology, or other related field

• Preferred 2-4 years of work experience in a microbiology laboratory.

• Focused, organized and high attention to detail.

• Perform and demonstrate a high level of aseptic technique.

• Possess the ability to work across departments, self motivated, and able to collaborate in scheduling production/projects.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

• Communicate, comprehend and follow instructions, both written and verbally, using the English language.

• Ability to see and distinguish colors.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Sit for extended periods of time and possess manual dexterity vital for inoculating and streaking plates, harvesting cultures, and for pipetting.

• Specific gowning is required including: Lab coat, shoe covers, hair net, safety glasses, gloves
