Our client is a large NSW Government Organisation who are seeking Procurement Managerto join their team.

The Category Manager is responsible for leading sourcing activities within their portfolio and category for the commercial management of new and existing contract arrangements and for managing supplier performance. The position is responsible for working collaboratively with stakeholders to understand business needs and objectives and supports the portfolio Head of Procurement in developing and implementing Procurement Strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide expert advice and guidance on issues relating to all aspects of category management and sourcing activity, including setting strategy, negotiation approaches,sourcing, managing suppliers, deriving best value and dealing effectively with contractual disputes.
  2. Execute category strategy through the management of appropriate cross-functional teams, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  3. Be the Procurement lead in high value, high risk and complex market engagement activities (end to end procurement).
  4. Provide commercial advice and direction to internal stakeholders in relation to supplier and contract management and act as mediator between the supplier and internal customer as required.
Selection Criteria:
  1. Degree qualification in a related field orsignificant equivalent experience and relevant professional accreditation or certification to a procurement industry or recognised board.
  2. Experience in the delivery of high quality integrated advice across a full range of procurement services relevant to the allocated portfolio in a public sector environment.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the evolution of procurement frameworks and legislation and the industrial framework.

On offer is a 12 month contract at a highly sought after NSW Government Organisation, with a highly competitive daily rate.
