Role Overview

We are looking for a world-class Principle Depot Manager who will be the senior leader at our largest depot in Woolwich. You will be working closely with the Head of Operations and take ownership of ensuring our daily operations are efficient and timely, all while supporting our commitment to an excellent customer experience. Leading the depot's operation, you will manage the team overseeing day-to-day operations of our parcel delivery service, supporting the team to enhance and simplify existing processes and ways of working.

The ideal candidate is a hardworking and industrious operator who can pick up new systems and processes quickly, and is excited by the opportunity to set the benchmark standard for the industry with our day-to-day operations. This role is dynamic, fast-paced and varied, providing a unique growth opportunity for someone who is looking for their next challenge in a senior role at the heart of an operations-orientated, high-growth start-up.

All Operations roles at HIVED are in-person and primarily based at our depot in Woolwich, with the option to work from our Shoreditch office as required. We offer the option to work remotely ad hoc as required.

Role Overview

  • Lead the team that is responsible for daily operations and delivery cycle, from collecting parcels from senders, to sorting and delivering these parcels across London to customers
  • Introduce and monitor depot KPIs and ensure that all teams are aligned and held accountable to these for their performance
  • Collaborate with the wider operations team (Dispatch, Vehicles, Planning and Capacity etc.) to ensure our operation runs at maximum efficiency
  • Accountable for reviewing all structures and processes at the depot and proactively seeking opportunities to improve
  • Work closely with leadership to identify and address operational roadblocks
  • Manage a high-performing team and foster an efficient operations culture

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working in a high-pressured operational environment
  • Proactive in solving problems and energised by the idea of finding a solution, but equally not discouraged by repetitive work. You get the job done.
  • Diligent, trustworthy, and level-headed under pressure. You bring order to chaos and are always on the lookout for ways of improving systems and processes
  • Outstanding analytical skills and a data-driven mindset
  • Comfortable using and adapting to software systems
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and not miss deadlines
  • Passionate about the HIVED mission and sustainability more generally

Benefits

How we Reward our Team

  • Dynamic working environment with a diverse and driven team
  • Huge opportunity for learning in a high growth environment, with progression opportunities based on success in the role
  • 25 days of holiday allowance plus public holidays
  • Wellbeing initiatives, including three wellbeing days in addition to holiday allowance
  • Weekly team lunch and regular company socials
  • Mainly in-person working at our Woolwich depot with the option for ad hoc remote working when required
