Job Description
Dark Light is specialized in staffing projects for BI & data experts! Currently, we are urgently looking for a Oracle DBA for a +6 months project!
Tasks
Role as Database Administrator: (mandatory)
You are responsible for the installations, upgrades and configurations of the Oracle database environments in order to successfully set up and manage the IT environment of the internal/external customer.
You know most of the features of the latest database versions and can work with them according to the customer's requirements.
On the basis of a rotation, you are responsible for the permanence and service to the end users to guarantee the agreed service levels. Sporadic work outside the traditional office hours is part of this.
In a proactive and critical way you examine the IT-environment of the internal/external customers and you formulate the necessary improvement proposals. These can be in the domain of infrastructure improvements, as well as in the capacity to recommend code and application changes.
You ensure up to date procedures and draw configurations in order to give the other engineers the necessary tools to guarantee the stability of the environment.
You provide support for incidents with end users of the internal/external customer in order to limit or avoid interruption of the work.
You have a drive to continuously learn, maximize your technical skills and apply them optimally within the organization.
Optional knowledge as DB Machine Administrator: (nice to have)
You will guide and supervise installations, periodic patching and configurations of engineered systems such as exadata on premise and ExaCC, ODA, ZDRLA or ZFS appliance according to customer requirements. You will be part of a more specialised subteam that will take on this task for several customers in a similar way.
You know the features of these platforms and can apply them according to the customer's needs.
Because of your specific expertise you are an advisor for fellow DBAs, but also for architects, (pre-) sales and project managers regarding the specific approach of Engineer.
Requirements
- Oracle 19c with proven knowledge around RMAN backup/recovery, ASM, Dataguard, RAC, ...
- Experience with Oracle Multitenant Architecture.
- Hands on experience with database patching, migration and upgrade projects.
- Provide performance tuning advice based on in-depth analysis.
