Operations Manager: Workington Cumbria
Salary :DOE

MacArthur Recruitment is working for a UKbased manufacturing engineering organisation who are looking for an Operations Manager. This is a highly demanding role taking full ownership of the operational production side of the business. You will lead the production team and collaborate closely with all other areas in the business to drive continuous improvement and contribute to longterm success for the business.

Overview of the Operations Manager role :
  • Provide safety leadership and ensure that all manufacturing is delivered without harm to those involved while minimising impact on the environment.
  • Develop and deliver the Safety Improvement Plan.
  • Review and agree estimates for internal and external work.
  • Review and agree capital investment plans and proposals to ensure they meet the future growth plans of the business.
  • Undertake cost centre Management for the manufacturing cost centre.
  • Develop and implement the manufacturing improvement plan.
  • Develop the manufacturing skills base to meet the future needs of the business (including succession planning recruitment training apprentices etc).
  • Oversee industrial relations management and workforce engagement.
  • Through Strong Leadership set and uphold high standards in relation to: health & safety quality environmental management human resource processes and procedures and company image and reputation.
  • Lead the manufacturing teams to ensure high standards of costeffective work are delivered to time cost and quality as defined in the budget and work specifications.
  • Ensure a high discipline standard is maintained throughout the department by ensuing that effective timekeeping and attendance is maintained policy processes and business standards are followed and that accountability of all team members is known.
  • Planning and reporting of manufacturing activities.
  • Your background for the Operations Manager role :
  • Proven experience as an Operational Manager or equivalent position in leading manufacturing projects.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team in a fastpaced work environment within manufacturing.
  • A bachelor s degree in operations business management or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills for training and motivating teams.
  • Excellent computer skills with the ability to analyse business intelligence and big data that identify revenue opportunities and operations improvements.
  • Problemsolving for improving processes increasing efficiency and profits.
  • Expert knowledge of safety efficiency and productquality standards.
  • Expertise in managing external partner relationships and contracts.
  • Knowledge of industry legal rules guidelines and diverse business principles and functions.
