Job Summary: The Network Platforms Engineer will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of core network infrastructure and platforms. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure robust, scalable, and secure network services that align with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Network Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
- Designing and deploying network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Configuring and maintaining network services to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
Platform Management and Optimization:
- Managing network platforms and systems such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, and SNMP.
- Optimizing network platforms for scalability, reliability, and security.
Security and Compliance:
- Implementing and enforcing network security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices for network security.
Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitoring network performance, analyzing traffic patterns, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Investigating and resolving network-related issues, including performance degradation and connectivity problems.
Collaboration and Integration:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate network services with other IT systems and applications.
- Working closely with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to align network infrastructure with organizational goals.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Creating and maintaining documentation for network designs, configurations, and procedures.
- Generating reports on network performance, capacity planning, and utilization metrics.
