Javascript Software Engineer (Berlin/Remote DE) @ VC-Backed Impact Startup

Our business model: We are enabling farmers to take on climate change, while turning their businesses more profitable and sustainable. This is made possible by the world's first digital platform for carbon farming as well as related B2B carbon offsetting services, including a Klim food label.

Backed by leading European investors, including Atlantic Food Labs, Ananda Impact Ventures and Wi Venture, and after launching our product (iOS & Android hybrid app and web app), we are now looking for a passionate Javascript engineer to add to our existing engineering team.

Tasks

As a Javascript engineer, you will be working directly with our CTO and other team members to rapidly build new features and improve existing ones in our current product. This will include work on our frontend ReactJS app, backend NodeJS server, Postgres database, and possibly a React Native app.

What is our tech stack?

• ReactJS for our web client
• NodeJS & Express for our API
• Postgres for relational DB & Sequelize ORM
• Cordova for our hybrid app (our replacement React Native app is in development)
• AWS and related services for our infrastructure
• Atlassian software (Jira, BitBucket, etc)

Requirements

What are the minimum requirements?

• Min 3 years of experience working with React in a production environment.
• Min 1 year of experience working with Node.
• Min 1 year experience working with relational databases.
• Experience with agile development.
• Ability to ensure that your code is clean and bug-free!
• Fluent/good English.
• Enthusiasm for doing something positive.

How do you get bonus points?

• Experience with React Native is a plus.
• Experience with AWS is a plus.
• Experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing is a plus.
• Experience and passion for startups is a huge plus.

What do you need to succeed at Klim?

• You must be comfortable working in a small team and by yourself where necessary - we re a semi-remote startup and we trust each other to do great work!

• You should have good knowledge and experience in translating product feature ideas into working components.
