Job Description

The primary purpose of the role is to support field based clinical and sales staff by providing effective control over both consignment implant and instrument assets.

This is primarily a field based role that requires on the ground presence in both public and private hospitals served by Tekno Surgical although there will also be a substantial amount of preparation and support work that will be required to be carried out in the office.

Reporting to the Inventory Manager the role will also involve the implementation of technology initiatives that support improved asset control.

This role is a Fixed Term Contract (12 month).

Main Responsibilities

  • Support / lead the implementation of hospital consignment agreements with Tekno field based and hospital staff and reflect agreed stock quantities in Navision (Tekno ERP)
  • Implement robust controls over stock additions and reduction to consignment
  • Implement robust controls that ensure completeness of hospital ordering (portal and non-portal hospitals)
  • Support the optimisation of consignment levels relative to historical and projected sales demand to reduce the level of cash tied up in stock investment
  • Rotate short dated stock with weak demand in one hospital location to higher demand locations to reduce write offs to the P&L
  • Remove and replenish expired stock / report on actual implant write offs monthly
  • Support the implementation/maintenance of robust processes over implant returns
  • Manage Stryker returns/exchange of medium dated stock with weak demand for longer dated stock to reduce the risk of write offs due to expiry
  • Support Tekno field based personnel with periodic cycle counts and reconciliations to NAV Support year end implant provision modelling / generation of audit support

WEB PORTAL

  • Support introduction of the web portal with all hospital and Tekno stakeholders
  • Provide pre-live hospital support to ready procurement / theatre / rep for portal implementation
  • Provide post go-live hospital support for 2-3 weeks following implementation
  • Ongoing support for key portal stakeholders (theatre / procurement / sales reps)

INSTRUMENTS

  • Update the quantity and location of all Orthopaedic Instruments Sets (Recon, Trauma and Spine)
  • Support Sales Reps in instrument validation prior to cases (as required)
  • Monitor adherence to approval process for new set consignment investment
  • Support the optimisation of consignment sets relative to implant sales, service expectations and location

Background, experience & skills

Experience

  • Min 2 years ERP transactions processing experience (NAV an advantage)
  • Knowledge of a distribution supply chain / operation of a consignment business model, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Min 2 years working in a service driven, customer focused role

Background and Context

Tekno Surgical has an inventory management and control programme that is focused on optimising the level of investment (cash) and minimising the level of write offs/provision charges to the profit and loss (profit).

By the very nature of its business Tekno has a large consignment investment that comprises both implants and instrument kits used in orthopaedic, spine, surgical and trauma cases performed in public and private hospitals on the island of Ireland.
