Job Description

Participates in the annual strategy meetings to identify the company s corporate objectives while ensuring the integration and alignment of the Legal department strategic objectives within the overall company strategic plans.
Prepares the legal department budget obtains CEO approval and monitors deviation versus plan.
Cascades the Legal department objectives to the Legal team ensuring that clear KPIs and action plans are clearly communicated. Monitors their execution and achievement.
Ensures the updates of the Legal Department Policies and Procedures Manual and its timely communication to all relevant stakeholders.
Attends or delegates a team member to cooperate with Vendor Management to ensure an effective suppliers selection and products/services technical specifications process are in line with the Legal Department business requirements.
Recommends and communicates system and software changes to the IT Manager and guides the plan for rollout and implementation within own department.
Attends Board and Subcommittee meetings (when invited); leading and supporting all Legal related discussions for Amlak Egypt.
Presents periodical reports to the CEO on the activities of the Legal department aspects including and not limited to; number of cases at hand status and criticality of each case budget requirements (if any) etc. highlighting challenges and risks causing or may cause legal liabilities on the company along with recommended legal actions to overcome them.
Maintains the organizational culture values and reputation in the market with all the staff customers suppliers partners and regulatory/official bodies




Requirements

  • 15 years experience 3 of which in NonBanking Financial Services is an asset.
  • Bachelor s Degree in Law is a must from an accredited university
  • A Masters Degree or an MBA is an asset.
  • Sharia studies is an asset
  • Strong knowledge in Banking and NonBanking Financial Services law and its executive regulations.
  • Experience in Islamic banking operations and regulations is an asset.
