Job Description
Aim of the job:
- Improved and enhance agricultural processes to raise productivity and yield through Research andDevelopment activities
- Manage and improve nutritional health of oil palms and rubber
- Provide technical consultancy to estates
- Train personnel on various aspects of oil palm and rubber agricultural
Main responsibilities and activities:
- Develop, implement and manage Research activities
- Develop, implement and manage all activities pertaining to health and nutritional aspects of plantations
- Conduct training.
- Provide technical consultancies
- Develop and manage replanting program and related activities
- Provide advisory on best management practices
Requirements
Basic education and training:
- Bachelor or higher Degree in Agricultural or Applied Science or other plantation related qualification.
- Communication skills
- Leadership skill
Professional experience:
- 5 years or more working experience in agriculture or related fields.
- Experience in developing, implementing and managing research activities
- Published papers in reputable journals or international conferences.
Specific knowledge linked to the job:
- MS Office application
- Advanced Agriculture
- Fertilizer recommendation and formulation.
- Agronomy & Pest and Disease Management.
- Soil science
- Experimental Designs
- Statistics
- Agricultural economics
- Basic knowledge in GIS/GPS
- Sustainability issues
Personal qualities required, abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communicator, innovative
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work with a specialized, high performing and multi-cultural team
- Able and willing to travel
- Strong commitment
- Respect for cultures other than his /her own
