Job Summary

We are seeking a Downstream Process Engineer specialized in Refinery Hydrocracker to join our Global Manufacturing Excellence organization under the Downstream Global Manufacturing Technical Support team. The technical support team is a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing the required high-quality technical support to GM operating facilities (Refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants) inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & across the globe. Your primary role will be to provide process engineering and operations expertise to monitor, optimize, and drive performance improvement programs for Hydrocracker processes including remote and field technical advisory support, benchmarking, technology knowledge management and exchange. You will drive the performance improvement programs which enhance process safety, optimize manufacturing cost, and increase plant reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and monitoring the performance of existing refinery facilities using key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure optimal operability, profitability, reliability, and process safety.
  • Issuing quarterly benchmarking reports that analyze KPIs, provide insights, and offer recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Providing support services and troubleshooting manufacturing issues as they arise.
  • Assisting in enhancing product quality and reducing production costs.
  • Inspecting and reviewing operational activities to determine production schedules.
  • Conducting optimization analysis, economic evaluations, and forecasts on equipment, projects, operations, and system strategies.
  • Researching methods to reduce production costs, setting production goals, and developing schedules and plans for tasks.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems while minimizing costs, adhering to schedules, meeting deadlines, and addressing equipment or process-related challenges.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in chemical engineering. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the refinery industry.
  • Possess at least 4 years of experience in Hydrocracker units and 2 years in Hydrotreating units.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Catalyst Selection & Evaluation.
  • Experience with UOP/Chevron licensed facilities is preferred.
