Opportunity for a Disability Advocacy Services Manager


Fulltime position SCHADS Level 78 $110913 $125000 per annum (salary dependent on experience) 11% super salary sacrifice.

What our Disability Advocacy Services Manager role looks like


As the Disability Advocacy Service Manager at Midlas your day will be dynamic and impactful. Picture yourself diving into the day leading team meetings for our NDIS Appeals and Individual Advocacy teams fostering collaboration and steering service delivery. You will further support your multidisciplinary and dispersed teams ensuring that each team member has the right mix of support and autonomy. Tackling complex cases will require your adept skills in managing guardianship and administration orders and navigating conflicts of interest with finesse leveraging the expertise within our teams to achieve the best outcomes.


Strategic operations are part of your daily rhythm with handson involvement in both service program development change management and senior leadership decisions. Beyond the immediacy of daytoday management youll also play a key role in the broader picture by engaging with funders. These quarterly reports and engagements with the two main contract managers are vital in securing the resources needed to empower our community and further the mission of Midlas.


What we re looking for in a person


Your unique strengths and experiences are what we value most. If the following describes you were eager to connect:


  • Managerial experience in delivering similar services with a proven ability to build lead and maintain highfunctioning positive teams towards achieving service outcomes.
  • Proven experience in employing effective management and leadership practices coaching and facilitating professional growth among multidisciplinary staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing service agreements program budgets liaising with contract managers and overseeing complex service delivery within specified budgets and timeframes.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure impact.
  • Demonstrated advocacy skills and an understanding of the disability sector including NDIS and National Disability Advocacy models.
  • Knowledge of the NDIS processes including the Appeals process and Quality and Safeguard Commission alongside an understanding of disability sector dynamics and legislation in Australia.
  • Relevant qualifications in areas such as business management leadership social services social work human services law and/or similar (desirable). Holding a current legal practice certificate is also considered an advantage.

The successful applicant will need to hold a satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check WA Working with Children Check undertake a national police clearance and have working rights in Australia.
