Design Manager - Hybrid

About us

The role

• Lead the design team and process to suit both needs of the business and compliance with relevant regulations and requirements.
  
• Prepare concept scheme designs and communicate these with appropriate parties to build proposals.
  
• Oversee the production of schematic diagrams from basic philosophy or engineer s sketches.
  
• Complete audits and input into quality assurance on new and existing facilities to ensure installations are in line with both the design intent and best practices.
  
• Lead the design team in verification validation and certification of all designs.
  
• Day to day management of design department including supporting development opportunities and mentoring.
  
• Liaise with commercial on scope specification and context for design
  
• Manage design registers and design submissions acting as reference/escalation point for queries from IDNO/DNO.
  
• Manage design data and records in line with ISO requirements
  
• Ensure proper engineering rigour on designs for safety for LV132KV projects.
  
• Support when necessary the wider business in technical customer meetings
  
• Building and maintaining client relationships ensuring positive commercial outcomes for all parties.
  

Requirements

• Proficient in the use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office Microsoft Teams SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones tablets laptops etc.
  
• Excellent communication including ability to adapt your communication styles and outstanding listening skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team
  
• Confident in working collaboratively as well as using own creativity and initiative to develop high standard designs.
  
• Excellent attention to detail which can be maintained when working under pressure and within a fastpaced environment.
  
• Confident in planning activities and managing the execution of associated designs.
