My client, suppliers to UK retailers focused on chilled ready-to-cook products, has an exciting opportunity for an Area / Departmental Manager to join our Production team.


In this role, the primary responsibilities include:


  • Ensuring that manning levels (all roles) are in line with plan/expectations.
  • Check the production plan/targets for the current shift.
  • Ensure sufficientraw material quantity and qualityto achieve the daily running plan.
  • Monitor productivity rates throughout the shift, ensuring targets are achieved, and finished product quality is to specification.
  • Ensure that all customer orders are completed in full and within the scheduled departure times.
  • Develop employees to ensure adequate succession planning for all processes.
  • Ensure that Hygiene, Safety and GMP standards are adhered to and always achieved within the Department.
  • Ensure that all employees are adequately trained for the tasks expected of them.
  • Communicate daily with the Production Manager and opposite Departmental Manager regarding all relevant issues.
  • Ensure the Team Leaders within your remit know their area of responsibility for the shift and their shift targets.
  • Carry out staff appraisals within your team at least once per annum.
  • Challenge existing processes and look at better ways of working.

The current shift pattern is under review but currently sits at:

week 1, days, week two backs working every second weekend

.



Requirements

Experience in managing a team within a FMCG environment
Have worked in a chilled environment is preferred
Drivers License

Able to work in the UK without sponsorship
