Custodian

This position will be working third (3rd) shift MonFri. First week will be during the day for training purposes. It is located in the Fitness Complex Fitness/Sports/Aquatics Division of the Morale Welfare and Recreation Directorate SUBASE Kings Bay Georgia. The purpose of this position is to maintain sanitary conditions within the Fitness Complex premises to include cleaning trash disposal and providing general upkeep.

Performs one or more of the following duties: Scrubs strips waxes and polishes floors using heavy (industrialtype) powered scrubbers and buffers. Vacuum cleans rugs using heavy (industrialtype) vacuum cleaner. Adjusts cleans and oils these machines and changes brushes rollers buffers and other attachments on them. Washes and replaces blinds changes light bulbs and washes ceiling fixtures and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds. Moves heavy furniture supplies and equipment. Keeps restrooms in clean orderly and sanitary condition. Cleans disinfects and deodorizes lavatories urinals and toilet bowls. Cleans mirrors sinks and water fountains. Dusts ledges and woodwork. Replaces deoderizes toilet tissue hand towels and soap. Maintains a stock of cleaning materials and equipment and notifies supervisor when more are needed. Cleans showers sauna and steam room. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  
• Must successfully pass the Everify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.

Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations. This position requires employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and falls under the respiratory protection program and hearing conservation program. Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
