Corporate Transactional Lawyer - EY Law - Amman, Jordan
The Opportunity

The opportunity is to join the transactional practice of EY Law MENA. The transaction practice of EY Law MENA is involved in the legal aspects of private M&A (buy- and sell-side), private equity investments, venture capital investments, joint venture and strategic alliances, as well as large scale corporate reorganizations. The main geographic focus of the practice is the GCC but with an international outlook and coverage.

The candidate would be integrated in the EY Law MENA transaction practices which currently operates out of Dubai and Riyadh.

Skills And Attributes For Success

We are looking for someone who will create a distinctive and differentiated law brand with us: this role is best suited for law professionals who have worked in established law firms, and who wish to develop their career with this greenfield opportunity by being part of a growing team looking to create a new and successful legal practice.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Corporate transactional lawyer with 5 to 7 years of experience acquired in private practice at a top tier local or international law firm.
  • Perfect command of English both spoken and written.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Experience carrying out legal due diligence reviews and drafting due diligence reports, preparation of closing checklists and corporate resolutions, preparation of ancillary and key transactions documents, and demonstrable understanding of key concepts applicable to corporate transactions.
  • Ideally some international experience (through education or work experience) in a common law jurisdiction.

Ideally, you also have:

  • The ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically.
  • An enthusiastic, flexible and positive approach to work and challenges.
  • Great negotiation skills.
  • The ability to get up to speed quickly.
  • Keenness to continue developing your legal skills and engaging in new areas of work.
  • Experience in coaching and developing more junior staff.
