Midwest multidisciplined engineering firm is looking to add a Construction Engineer to their Chicago team!
Responsibilities:
- Serve as liaison with contractor on a variety of projects ranging from roadways and bridges to underground installation and treatment plant construction
- Coordinate construction activity with clients internal departments and contractors/public agencies
- Assist design team with detailed drawings as needed
- Work directly with clients
- Provide general civil engineering duties
- Duties include:
o Conduct onsite observation of work repairs and tests
o Maintain job site records of daily reports job meeting minutes approved drawings and pay requests
o Observe measure and document construction activities
o Maintain daily log of construction activities
o Review pay requests and verify completed work
Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Civil or Construction Engineering from an accredited college with an emphasis in construction engineering
- 8 years of construction engineering experience
- PE license
- IDOT/Tollway experience
- Previous experience on IDOT or Illinois Tollway projects
- Chicago DOT and METRA construction experience preferred
- Computer skills and mastery of proprietary software (IDOT CMMS program etc)
