Introduction
Nightingale Hammerson is a leading specialist in the care of older people supporting specifically Jewish residents We have two care homes Nightingale House in Clapham and Hammerson House in East Finchley
As a Building Technician you will be an integral part of our Property Services Department responsible for ensuring the ongoing functionality and appearance of our facilitiesas well as ensuring the safety and comfort of our Residents
What will your typical day involve
In this role youll be responsible for a wide range of tasks that ensure the smooth operation and safety of our facilitiesThis includes planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and general maintenance tasks as well as the repair and maintenance of various electrical and mechanical systems
Youll be the goto expert for issues ranging from heating and ventilation to plumbing making sure everything runs seamlessly Your duties will also encompass reactive maintenance equipment repairs and the overall upkeep of the building both inside and out
Additionally youll respond promptly to maintenance requests ensuring a high standard of work that complies with safety regulations and internal policies Teamwork is key as youll collaborate effectively with your colleagues in the Property Services Department
Moreover after inhouse training youll take on the role of Fire Marshal during fire alarms and be available for occasional emergency callouts outside regular business hours
Your responsibilities will extend to conducting checks on various systems attending training courses and undertaking additional duties as required by the organisation contributing to our commitment to excellence
Who are we looking for
For this role having relevant qualifications in building maintenance electrical or mechanical systems or a related field is a must
Additionally you should possess a proven track record of experience in building maintenance and repair Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to diagnose faults are key attributes
Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration A proactive and selfmotivated approach to work is highly valued and a willingness to work outside regular business hours for emergency callouts is essential
