THE ROLE

Were creating a loved brand in Europe and this is where your story begins!

As Barkyns Backend Developer you will build product features strategically linked to customer increase retention and satisfaction. You will also maintain our services platform and backend applications as well as contribute to the seamless execution of our tech roadmap.

Specifically we expect you to:

1. Develop webscale applications delivering features for our ecommerce platform;
2. Develop software applications for an ecommerce growing platform;
3. Collaborate with Frontend Developers and UI/UX Designers to ensure seamless integration of frontend and backend functionalities;
4. Create and maintain Rest APIs and Microservices;
5. Stay up to speed with backend technologies software architecture principles and design patterns;
6. Have an understanding of the full development lifecycle with an emphasis on software quality processes;
7. Work in an Agile environment focusing on delivery/commitment and continuous improvement.

Mandatory requirements:

1. Minimum 5 years of experience as Backend or Full Stack Developer;
2. Proficiency in Node.js React Typescript Javascript Python and Go;
3. Experience in creating APIs;
4. Experience in Microservices;
5. Familiarity with Cloud Providers (e.g. AWS DigitalOcean);
6. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes;
7. Previous experience working at a startup
8. Skilled in problemsolving and with a proactive attitude;
9. Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Brownie points:

1. Dog owner;
2. Experience or familiarity with Shopify is a plus.
