Key Responsibilities:
1. Category Strategy Development:
Develop and implement categoryspecific strategies to achieve sales and profitability targets.
Conduct market research to identify emerging trends customer preferences and competitive landscapes.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align category strategies with overall business objectives.
2. Product Assortment Management:
Curate and manage a diverse and appealing product assortment within assigned categories.
Regularly review and optimize the product mix to ensure alignment with market trends and customer demand.
Work closely with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms secure exclusive deals and maintain strong relationships.
Plan products/assortment size as per the footage requirement of the stores that make up a fair representation of the optimal merchandise category assortment and its segmentation from the consumers perspective while delivering the planned returns per square foot. Conduct regular analysis on subcategories segments brands sku based on
consumerretailer supplier and market information.
3. Supplier Relationship Management:
Identify and onboard new suppliers to expand product offerings within assigned categories.
Negotiate pricing terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal margins and inventory levels.
Implement effective supplier account management practices including regular performance reviews issue resolution and collaboration on joint business plans
4. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize data analytics tools to assess category performance identify growth opportunities and optimize pricing strategies.
Prepare and present regular reports on category performance sales trends and key metrics to senior management.
5. CrossFunctional Collaboration:
Collaborate with planning and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of brand strategies.
Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective promotional campaigns and merchandising initiatives for brands
Work closely with city or regional teams to have city level plans for category's growth.
