The position is for one of our clients, an international company specializing in bespoke student accommodations that provide leisure, safety, and well-being all under the same roof. A key player in the hospitality sector in the UK, our client has recently established themselves in Barcelona. As Accounts Payable Specialist, you will work closely together with the Finance Manager to ensure all financial operations and transactions are accounted for in an accurate and timely manner.

Tasks

  • Assist in all tasks regarding financial transactions and bookkeeping of the company
  • Review, analyze and process invoices and payments in both the sales and purchase ledger
  • Process all payments in accordance with local tax regulations
  • Liaise with external actors such as suppliers, controllers, bank, audit and customers
  • Oversee and process petty cash management and credit card receipts
  • Reconcile month-end statements
  • Keep the internal ERP always up to date
  • Support adhoc financial and administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Previous work experience within finance and accounting, preferably in accounts payable and/or receivable
  • Previous experience within a Shared Service Center will be highly valued
  • Full professional level of both English and Spanish
  • Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Accounting from a Spanish university
  • Knowledge of Spanish GAAP and Spanish tax regulations is a must
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular of Excel
  • Proficiency in an ERP is a plus, in particular with Sage
  • Proven ability to manage an extensive workload and a high volume of transactions
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Adaptability to handle varied tasks due to rapidly expanding business
