We are seeking expressions of interest for the role of Executive Manager in the Strategic Policy Science and Engagement (SPSE) Deputy Secretary Office for a period of 10 months.

As Executive Manager you will provide highlevel support and advice to the Deputy Secretary while leading the daytoday operations of the Deputy Secretarys Office. You will drive complex and highpriority initiatives coordinate executive and ministerial requests and ensure the Deputy Secretary is well informed and positioned to make timely strategic decisions.

In this role you will:

  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and stakeholders across SPSE and DCCEEW
  • Lead and support complex sensitive and high-priority initiatives on behalf of the Deputy Secretary
  • Proactively manage critical issues and projects
  • Lead a small team across operations policy and administration

About You

You are a highly capable senior professional with experience operating in complex government environments and providing strategic advice and executive support at a senior level. You bring strong leadership organisational and project management skills along with a sound understanding of government and Cabinet processes. A confident communicator you build trusted relationships across stakeholders and exercise sound judgement when managing sensitive timecritical matters thriving in fastpaced environments that require discretion collaboration and a proactive approach.

To be successful you will bring:

  • Strong team leadership and people management skills
  • Sound project management and organisational capability
  • Clear confident communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively across a wide range of stakeholders

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge skills and experience at a senior level in Government protocols and procedures including Cabinet and inter-government protocols and processes
  • Experience working in a senior executive support function and proven ability to exercise sound judgement particularly in matters of great political sensitivity strict confidentiality and/or potential controversy.

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in relevant field
