About Purple House
Purple House is seeking an experienced and proactive Work Health & Safety Manager to lead and strengthen our WHS systems compliance risk management and safety culture across our organisation.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who is passionate about creating safer workplaces supporting people and driving continuous improvement across diverse and remote environments.
Working closely with the CEO and stakeholders across the organisation you will play a key role in ensuring safety wellbeing and legislative compliance across approximately 100 sites including offices accommodation Dialysis Units and Aged Care facilities throughout the NT SA and WA.
About the Role
We are seeking a practical and collaborative WHS professional who enjoys building strong working relationships and supporting teams across diverse operational environments.
The successful candidate will balance legislative compliance with stakeholder engagement continuous improvement and practical day-to-day support while taking a proactive and solutions-focused approach to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage WHS systems policies and compliance processes
- Conduct and coordinate site inspections audits and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions and improvement strategies
- Manage Workers Compensation claims and return-to-work processes
- Provide WHS advice support and education to managers and employees
- Develop and maintain WHS policies procedures and resources
- Coordinate mandatory safety programs including Fire Wardens and First Aid training
- Monitor WHS reporting systems registers and compliance requirements
- Support organisational projects and initiatives with a WHS and risk management lens
- Contribute to continuous improvement across safety systems and workplace practices
About You
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Qualifications in Work Health & Safety Risk Management OH&S or related discipline
- Significant experience in WHS and risk management
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience managing Workers Compensation and return-to-work processes
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working within health community or clinical environments
- Ability to work collaboratively across culturally diverse and remote settings
- Willingness to travel across NT SA and WA including remote communities
- Current unrestricted driver licence
- Current National Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- 4WD driving experience
- Experience working within Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations or remote health services
