Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Specialist to support our child care centres across our BC locations. This role is ideal for a hands-on solutions-focused professional who enjoys variety takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining safe and compliant environments for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and reactive maintenance repairs and inspections across multiple child care centres
- Address day-to-day facility issues including plumbing basic electrical carpentry painting flooring and general repairs
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe functional and compliant
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as required
- Participate in centre openings renovations and upgrades
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests and completed work
- Ensure all work meets health safety and licensing standards
- Support urgent or after-hours maintenance needs when required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 23 years of hands-on maintenance or building operations experience
- Experience in commercial institutional or child care environments is an asset
- Strong working knowledge of general building systems and repairs
- Ability to work independently troubleshoot issues and manage priorities across multiple locations
- Valid BC drivers license
- Physically capable of performing maintenance duties (lifting bending ladder use etc.)
- Strong communication
- Must have a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) or be willing to obtain one prior to employment as required for working in licensed child care environments
