Docketing Manager
About the Role:
A highly respected and dynamic law firm is seeking an experienced Docketing Manager to join its New Jersey office. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the firmwide litigation calendaring and docketing function while ensuring accuracy compliance and operational efficiency across all offices and practice groups.
The Docketing Manager will work closely with litigators practice group leaders paralegals and administrative teams to manage critical court deadlines appearances filings and litigation-related scheduling. This position plays a vital role in supporting risk management efforts and maintaining compliance with federal state and local court rules and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the firm s litigation docketing and calendaring processes to ensure compliance with all court deadlines rules and procedures.
- Implement configure and administer the firm s docketing system with preference for CourtAlert experience.
- Manage user setup template creation system maintenance and ongoing updates within the docketing platform.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys paralegals and administrative staff to ensure all critical dates and litigation deadlines are accurately tracked and communicated.
- Develop maintain and improve docketing procedures workflows and best practices across the firm.
- Train attorneys and staff on docketing systems calendaring procedures and compliance protocols.
- Provide ongoing system support troubleshooting and guidance related to docketing operations.
- Monitor court rule updates and implement necessary changes to procedures templates and internal processes.
- Conduct audits and periodic reviews of docket entries to ensure accuracy consistency and compliance.
- Supervise and mentor docketing staff including training workflow management
- performance oversight where applicable.
- Serve as the primary liaison with docketing system vendors and internal IT teams for maintenance upgrades and enhancements.
- Prepare regular reports related to docketing activity compliance metrics and risk management initiatives for firm leadership.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and minimizing operational risk.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of litigation docketing experience preferably within a law firm environment.
- Demonstrated experience with litigation docketing systems; CourtAlert experience strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of federal state and local court rules and procedures.
- Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments and offices.
- Experience training mentoring and supervising staff preferred.
- Strong technical aptitude and comfort working with legal technology systems.
- Flexibility and willingness to work additional hours as needed to support litigation deadlines and operational requirements.
Education & Experiences:
- Associate degree legal certification or equivalent professional experience preferred.
- Relevant litigation support docketing or legal operations experience required.
