Locum PA (Physician's Assistant) Cardiothoracic Surgery

As a Locum PA in Cardiothoracic Surgery you will play a crucial role in supporting our surgical team and delivering exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include assisting in surgeries managing pre-operative and post-operative patient care and collaborating closely with physicians to ensure optimal outcomes. Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures within the cardiothoracic surgery department
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative care for patients
• Collaborate with surgeons and medical staff to develop treatment plans
• Monitor patient progress and address any complications
• Educate patients and families on treatment options and post-operative care
• Document patient information accurately in medical records
• Participate in surgical rounds and team meetings
• Stay current with advancements in cardiothoracic surgery practices

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in Physician Assistant studies
• Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
• Experience in a surgical or cardiothoracic setting preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
• Commitment to continuous professional development
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols

• Schedule: Monday-Friday 4x10s or 5x8s
• Census: 30
• Must have first and second assist experience in the OR
• Must have post-cardiac surgery recovery care experience in an ICU setting
• Board-certification required
• Paid travel & expenses
