We have an exciting opportunity for a senior specialist to join our team as Injury management Advisor (IMA) where you are responsible for leading the strategic and operational delivery of injury management and return-to-work programs across Mondelēz Australia and New Zealand. Operating across multiple State and Territory jurisdictions the role ensures the organisation meets its legislative and regulatory obligations under each applicable workers compensation scheme.
The IMA acts as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor to the business on all matters relating to workers compensation injury management and return-to-work. The role partners with senior leaders People & Culture and external providers to drive early intervention sustainable return-to-work outcomes and continuous improvement in injury management performance across the ANZ portfolio.
How you will contribute:
Strategic Injury Management & Program Leadership
- Lead the design implementation and continuous improvement of the injury management and return-to-work framework across ANZ ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and legislative requirements
- Act as the subject matter expert and strategic advisor to People & Culture and senior operational leaders on injury management workers compensation and return-to-work matters
- Analyse injury trends claims data and program performance to provide insights and recommendations that drive improved outcomes and cost management
- Develop and implement early intervention strategies to minimise injury severity reduce claims duration and support employees safe and timely return to work
- Contribute to the development and review of injury management policies procedures and governance frameworks
- Stay current with legislative changes across all jurisdictions and proactively advise the business on impacts risks and compliance requirements
- Prepare reports and present insights to senior stakeholders on injury management performance trends and strategic initiatives
Multi-Jurisdictional Injury & Return-to-Work Management ANZ (Excluding Tasmania)
- Meet multi-jurisdictional requirements across all applicable States and Territories to manage the end-to-end process of injury management and the recovery-at-work process of employees
- Navigate and apply the differing legislative frameworks regulatory requirements and insurer expectations across jurisdictions with a high degree of autonomy
- Manage a complex caseload of injured employees across the business spanning multiple States and jurisdictions
- Undertake return-to-work planning as soon as an injury is reported in accordance with the relevant State or Territory legislation
- Co-ordinate the return-to-work process by liaising with the injured employee their supervisor and treating medical and health professionals
- Prepare monitor and review Recovery at Work Plans in line with jurisdictional requirements
- Identify suitable duties where reasonable and practicable
- Coach and influence leaders at all levels to ensure compliance with relevant policies procedures and legislation across all applicable jurisdictions
- Undertake regular claims reviews to ensure goals strategies and accountability are in place for each claim
- Maintain confidential records in line with privacy principles
- Maintain and optimise the injury management system
Stakeholder Management & Relationship Leadership
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders including senior operations leaders site managers People & Culture Business Partners and the payroll team
- Promote and embed the early intervention program across all sites through education coaching and stakeholder engagement
- Manage relationships with external providers including insurers Agents early intervention providers medical clinics and rehabilitation consultants
- Monitor and evaluate external provider performance against service level expectations driving accountability and quality outcomes
- Communicate proactively with insurer case managers on all aspects of employee recovery at work
Additional Responsibilities Non-Self-Insured States
- Build and maintain relationships with Agents/Insurers across all applicable States and jurisdictions
- Provide oversight of South Australia claims working collaboratively with the SA Return to Work Co-ordinator (RTWC) noting this role is required to reside in-state
- Maintain a working relationship with the internal payroll team and provide payroll reports to Agents/Insurers including obtaining rate-of-pay information
- Manage the end-to-end wage reimbursement process for time-lost claims including requesting and following up remittances and reconciling balances in Solv to ensure all financials are balanced
- Process cab charge accounts invoices and other claim-related expenses

Essential
- Significant experience in injury management and return-to-work co-ordination within a multi-jurisdictional environment across Australian States and Territories
- Strong working knowledge of Australian workers compensation legislation across multiple jurisdictions (e.g. NSW VIC QLD SA WA)
- Demonstrated experience managing a complex caseload of workers compensation claims from lodgement through to return to work and claim closure
- Proven ability to interpret and apply differing legislative and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions with minimal supervision
- Experience providing strategic advice and insights to senior leaders on injury management performance and compliance
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation and with external providers
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret claims data identify trends and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential information in accordance with privacy legislation

What extra ingredients you will bring:
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or Return to Work Co-ordination
- Experience working within both self-insured and non-self-insured workers compensation environments
- Experience with early intervention programs and injury prevention strategies
- Familiarity with injury management and claims systems (e.g. Solv)
- Experience in FMCG manufacturing or multi-site operational environments
- Experience in program design continuous improvement or project delivery within a safety or injury management context
