We are looking for aBusiness Analystto join ourHealthIntelligenceand SurveillanceGroup.This is a fixed term3-monthopportunity.
The team focuses on real-time data curationintegrationand visualization and most importantly translation of data into new visuals tools & insights relevant to public health surveillance. The team curate data from various sources such asSnowflakeHL7 messagesAPIs andvarious health data collection systems government and non-government data collection repositories.
The Business Analyst willprimarilybe supportingPHF Science intransitioningto a new notifiable disease information ecosystem (NDIE Programme) andwillplay a critical role in ensuring PHF Science requirements are being clearly documentedcommunicatedand tracked. The business analyst will alsohave a flexible skill set allowing for ad-hoc technical advisory whererequired.
The position will be available to start early July. Preference isfor the role to be based ineitherAucklandWellington or remote working may be considered.
In this role you will be involved in:
Documenting reviewing updating & gathering user requirements by engaging with stakeholder groups for all analytics products.
Owning the reporting lifecycle from engagement with business stakeholders through elicitation and documenting of reporting requirements to development delivery testing and sign-off on delivered reports.
Data mapping for reports and dashboards migrationand/or redevelopmentto the new data platform.

To be successful in this role you will have:
Previousexperience in business analysis within a data teampreferably in health with the ability to differentiate and connect business problems business requirements benefits and outcomes.
Datamodelling andmapping knowledge for reports datapipelinesand dashboards migration/development.
Theoretical/working knowledge ofETL methods data backbones and semantic models used inanalyticalworkflows (reportspipelinesand dashboards).
Meticulous planning and organisation skills able to successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously delivering to customer expectations
Experience in engaging with a diverse range of people atdifferent levelsof an organisation in a professional and collaborative manner.
