What You Will Do:

As a Student Trainee at Caterpillars Pontiac Facility you will be working with the Facilities Engineering team supporting some of Caterpillars world class Fuel System and Aftertreatment components. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a team making improvements in safety quality velocity and cost.

This position is located in Pontiac IL with an anticipated start date of early summer 2026. Part-time hours (10 to 32 hours per week) will be expected. Job duties/responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Assemble furniture and equipment according to instructions and safety guidelines provided.
• Relocate furniture and other items within the facility.
• Complete basic administrative tasks such as documenting machine locations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas both indoors and outdoors.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.

Student Trainee Qualifications:

• Must be an incoming high school junior or senior for the 2026-2027 school year.
• Must be within commutable distance to the Pontiac IL facility with reliable transportation.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive operations.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.

What You Will Get:

Student Trainee Hourly Rate: Hourly rate is based on your grade level for the 2026-2027 school year. Juniors receive $15.00/hr; Seniors receive $16.00/hr.
