Job Summary

Injury Management Coordinator

Brunel is looking for a part-time Injury Management Coordinator to join their team. This role would suit someone with experience in workplace injury management return-to-work coordination or a related field supporting employees through the recovery and rehabilitation process.

Primary Purpose:

  • To promote the vision of safety healthproductivityand wellbeing of workers as the key priorities for Brunel.
  • To develop and providesafetimelyefficientand responsive return to work co-ordination programs for injured Workers within an established injury management framework.
  • Tomaintainefficient workers compensation claims management to ensure that the actual and potential costs to Brunel areminimised.
  • Tomonitorandreport onclaim trends and safety incidents and develop strategies that address injury management.
  • Toassistwith the review process for Pre-Employment Medicals andassistin the provision of training programs forsame.
  • Toassistin safety and quality improvement projects and the continual improvement of Brunels performance and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure the activities associated with the successful return to work of injured workers are coordinated and implemented tominimiseabsence from workmaintainingefficient workers compensation claims management to ensure that the actual and potential costs to Brunel areminimised.
  • Manage relationships with internal and externalStakeholders whilst exercising a high degree of judgement and discretion
  • Conduct regular meetings with injured workers their supervisor theclientand health professionals to review the progress on the return to work (RTW) plan and the progress towards a full return to pre-injury work.
  • Provide advice to clients managerssupervisorsand staffregardinginjury management practicesissuesand trends.
  • Tofacilitatediscussions with clients/managers toidentifyalternative duties available to support and encourage effectiveorganisationalreturn to work programs.
  • Provideaccurateandtimelyinformation to theAuthorisedInsurer.
  • Conduct regularclaims reviewsincluding with third-party providers to ensure the agreed claims and injury management strategies are implemented
  • Manage all individual claims injury management filesensuring confidentiality at all times
  • Implement and deliver health and injury management initiatives aligned to Brunels business plan and objectives
  • Ensure that workers are paid compensation promptly by working with insurers and payroll and ensuring that reimbursements aresubmittedand funds received to balance accounts.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of WHS& Injury Managementlegislationpoliciesand procedures for effective management of injury cases
  • Reviewing Pre-Employment Medicals and MedicalmanagementPlans to ensure that workers meet theminimumrequirements for their roles withoutunduerisk to their safety or the safety of others.

Qualifications:

  • A recognisedqualificationin allied health or injury management.
  • Minimum2 years of experience in injury management or allied health.
  • Ability to translate medicalterminology tolaymanspeakin order toprovidepragmatic advice on risk exposure for workers compensation personal injury or illness and fitness forwork matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpretunderstandand apply relevant workerscompensation legislation.
  • Proficiencyin the development andimplementation of office systemsincluding administrative data storage statistical and electronic communication.
  • Demonstratedhigh levelof written and interpersonal skills includinggood communicationskillswith the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues where conflict might be present.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan schedule and work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and understandingof health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work areas.
