Job Summary for DHH Itinerant Classroom Teacher (DeKalb IL 2026-2027)
- Position: Full-time DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) Itinerant Classroom Teacher
- Location: DeKalb IL covering parts of Kane County
- Contract Dates: August 2026 May 2027 (Orientation on 8/3/26 School runs 8/11/26 5/21/27)
- Qualifications Required:
- Valid Professional Educator s License (PEL) with hearing impairment endorsement
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to use school-based technology
- Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct specialized instruction and interventions to DHH students per IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers administrators and specialists to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation of services assessments and interventions
- Participate in IEP meetings offering expertise in accommodations and assistive technology
