Job Summary
The Team Leader Housing Pathways andTenancy Advocacy will operate under limited direction from the Senior ManagerYouth Services and Housing Pathways and undertake a range of functionsfollowing operational policies practices and guidelines.
This position will lead and supportstaff in the Youth Services and Housing Pathways unit providing day to dayoperational management and oversight of the programs reporting to this roleincluding:
Aboriginal Tenancy Support andAdvocacy (ATSA)
Aboriginal Private Rental AssistanceProgram (APRAP)
Children Youth Resources (CYR)
Housing Pathways Support Program(HPSP)
This position is within an excitingnew unit at GEGAC which is growing in line with the Victorian AboriginalHousing and Homelessness Framework (Mana-na worn tyeen maar-takoort). This unitprovides specialist housing and homelessness support and consultation to theother teams at GEGAC and external stakeholders.

Position Purpose
The Team Leader HousingPathways and Tenancy Advocacy provides operational and practice leadershipwithin the Youth Services and Housing Pathways Unit operating under broaddirection from the Senior Manager Youth Services and Housing Pathways.
The role leads theday-to-day coordination and continuous improvement of specialist housing andhomelessness programs including including Aboriginal Tenancy Support andAdvocacy (ATSA) Aboriginal Private Rental Assistance Program (APRAP) ChildrenYouth Resources (CYR) Housing Pathways Support Program (HPSP) and ensures thedelivery of high-quality culturally safe and responsive services that supportAboriginal individuals and families to secure and sustain housing
This position forms part ofa new program at GEGAC which is growing in line with the Victorian AboriginalHousing and Homelessness Framework (Mana-na worn tyeen maar-takoort).
Key Selection Criteria
A demonstrated understanding of and commitmentto Aboriginal culture and communities with the ability to work in a culturallysafe and respectful manner.
Demonstrated ability to provideoperational leadership including supervising training supporting anddeveloping staff within a team environment.
Proven ability to work independentlyexercise sound judgement and provide specialist support and advise acrosscomplex programs and service areas.
Strong communication skills with theability to convey information clearly respectfully and appropriately to adiverse range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to provide specialistknowledge and advise about the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 with a thoroughunderstanding of the local private public and social housing sector.
Excellent customer service skills withproven capacity to engage and develop positive working relationships with peopleand stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds including program clientscolleagues businesses other organisations and the wider community.
Knowledge and an understanding thecauses and impacts of homelessness and demonstrated skills in holisticassessment and referral.
Strong organisational skills includingthe ability to manage competing priorities independently maintainconfidentiality and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications and RegistrationsRequirement (Essential or Desirable).
Valid Victorian drivers licence ESSENTIAL
Degree with substantial experience/postgraduate qualification or associate Diploma with substantial experience ESSENTIAL
A satisfactory Working with ChildrenCheck and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
A person of Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islanderbackground DESIRABLE
Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with GEGACrequirements ESSENTIAL
