21st Century Program Director
PURPOSE STATEMENT
The 21st Century Program Director is responsible for the overall success of the 21st Century Program including managing personnel (recruiting hiring supervising evaluating and training) collecting program data and evaluation monitoring monthly program expenditures for each site submission of all required reports and developing and participating in professional development for site directors. This position oversees Blue Devil Northwest the Walla Walla Public Schools live streaming and student broadcasting program by coordinating live productions supervising and training students and managing video production and digital media operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversee daily operations of the 21st Century program to ensure success at each site.
- Direct supervise and evaluate site directors and tutors.
- Meet monthly with site directors for professional development and grant guidance.
- Lead data collection efforts for reports required by OSPI DOE and 3rd part evaluator.
- Submit all required reports (PPICs 3rd party evaluation AIR surveys desk audits continuation reports budget justification and mini-grants).
- Monitor monthly expenditure for each site in coordination with the district fiscal office.
- Monitor program outcomes in each building and redesign or redirect programs as needed.
- Attend OSPI required program/project director meetings throughout the year.
- Participate in development of new afterschool indicators & best practices (OST Quality Initiative AIR Youth Experiences to Outcomes etc).
- Coordinate efforts for YPQI (Youth Program Quality Intervention) compliance.
- Oversee recruitment hiring and management of Blue Devil Northwest students and programming.
- Coordinate and supervise live streaming productions for district athletic events activities and special programs through Blue Devil Northwest.
- Manage broadcasting schedules production workflows and media equipment to ensure high-quality live productions.
- Develop opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in sports broadcasting media production and event coverage.
- Willing and able to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the outside-of-school night-time and school break programming requirements of the position.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to the Community Outreach and Partnership Coordinator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree required; Masters level training preferred.
- Previous experience working with after school education extended day academic remedial and enrichment programs including experience with STEM.
- Demonstrated proficiency with data collection report writing budget and expenditure monitoring and supervision.
- Previous experience with and/or comprehensive understanding of 21st CCLC federal objectives timelines and protocols.
- Experience supervising or teaching students in media production broadcasting journalism or technology programs preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Skill in effective oral and written communication; excellent interpersonal skills and creative problem solving ability.
- Strong administrative skills and experience; ability to plan organize prioritize and complete tasks; exceptional organizational skills.
- High level computer skills using a variety of software including Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Publisher and other software.
- Sensitivity to cultural and other community norms; ability to work with a wide range of people.
- Knowledge of community educational and social service resources.
- Ability to maintain cost accounting and other records.
- Ability to collect data for program evaluation.
- Knowledge of video production live streaming platforms broadcasting systems audio/video equipment and digitial media software.
Licenses/Special Requirements
- Requires fingerprinting and background check to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation abuse injury or neglect of a minor.
- Must complete Walla Walla Public Schools Risk Management and Bloodborne Pathogens Training upon hire.
- A willingness to work toward Youth Work Methods YPQA/SEL PQA external assessor and quality coaching certifications.
- A willingness to work toward completing the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) as a requirement of the Resilience Survey research project (DSHS IRB) if needed.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Non-represented position through 21st Century Grant. Retirement SEBB Benefits 13 Holidays Paid Sick Leave and Vacation.
