This role is based in the Michelin Shared Services Center in Bucharest Michelin Corporate & Business Services where more than 1000 colleagues deliver excellence in Purchasing Finance Logistics Sales Administration Personnel and Service Management.
The Indirect Tax Manager leads a team responsible for indirect tax compliance activities (mainly VAT) across multiple European Group entities.
The role ensures high-quality operational delivery peoples development stakeholder governance and continuous improvement contributing to efficient compliant and value-driven tax operations within an international Shared Service Center environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead coach and develop a teamof approximately12people
Supervise the quality of operational activitiesrelatedtoVAT compliance(scope:20 European entities)but alsoCustoms and Export Control
Leverage on AI to improve and smooth the VAT declaration process within the organisation
Drive continuous improvement initiatives process optimization and standardization across tax operationspromote and implement digital solutionsandautomation opportunities
Ensureclose collaborationwith keypartners (mainlyLocalTax Managersbut alsoGroup TaxCFOsProcess Engineers and otherkeypartners)
Act as akey interfacebetweenoperational tax deliveryandstrategic tax stakeholders ensuring alignment transparency and proactive issue resolution
Proactively contribute to identify VAT recovery opportunitiesandvalue creation levers
Contribute totransformation projectsand development of the SSC tax organization
Foster acollaborative customer-oriented and high-performance team culture
Mandatory Skills & Experience
Solid experience inpeople managementandteam leadership
8 to 10 years professional experience in VAT
Strongknowledgeofindirecttax applicable legislations across Europe (especially VAT/INTRASTAT and the EU directives)andthe stakes of the VAT processes and compliance environment (while the role is not expected to perform operational tax activities directly the manager should be able to overseeteamsoperations support decision-making and engage confidently with tax-related topics anddifferentstakeholders);
Previousexperience within amultinational consulting and auditcompanyand/orShared Service Center organization
Provenexperience in contributing to digitalandcontinuous improvementinitiatives
Strongcommunicationandstakeholder managementskillsability to workeasily with business partners in main European countries
Fluent English(French would be a plus)

Knowledge ofprocess improvement methodologies(Lean Six Sigma etc.)
Project management/transition projectsexperience
