Regional Control Tower Manager
Job Summary
to strategy and targets. Has responsibility for the optimisation of
Processes and Productivity within the Airfreight Product in the AREA.
Operational Visibility & Control
Ensure full transparency of shipment flows across the regional network through dashboards and tracking tools
Maintain real-time visibility of milestones shipment status and operational risks across systems
Proactively identify potential disruptions and drive mitigation actions in collaboration with stations and gateways
Exception & Disruption Management
Lead identification escalation and resolution of operational exceptions (e.g. delays capacity constraints customs holds documentation issues)
Coordinate cross-functional responses between stations gateways carriers and customer service teams
Act as escalation point for critical operational issues ensuring timely resolution
Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Customer Execution & Service Performance
Ensure execution of shipments in line with customer SOPs milestones and agreed service levels
Support strategic and complex customers requiring enhanced operational visibility
Monitor key performance indicators such as on-time performance milestone adherence and service reliability
Act as central escalation interface for customer-related operational topics
Network Coordination & Leadership
Align operations across stations gateways procurement and customer service teams
Support routing decisions and ensure operational continuity across the region
Leverage strong leadership experience to guide support and influence cross-location teams
Drive collaboration and consistency in execution across multiple sites
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
Provide regular reporting and operational insights to regional leadership
Monitor KPIs including shipment cycle time milestone completion and service performance
Identify improvement opportunities and drive process standardization across the network
Support strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects within the airfreight organization
Profile & Experience
Extensive experience in airfreight (min. 5 years) operations with strong expertise in import export and warehouse processes
Proven leadership background with disciplinary and functional responsibility for operational teams
Significant experience in multi-site coordination and regional operational alignment
Strong track record in budget responsibility and performance management
Experience in driving strategic initiatives and operational projects
Sound understanding of end-to-end airfreight processes and network dependencies
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on exception management and continuous improvement
Leadership & Personal Competencies
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills across multiple organizational levels
Ability to operate both strategically and operationally in a fast-paced environment
High degree of accountability ownership and decision-making capability
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage complex and sensitive situations
Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven performance management
