About the Role
Our client is a well-established and highly respected real estate group in Singapore with over two decades of market presence. The business is entering an exciting growth phase pursuing strategic M&A opportunities to acquire complementary SMEs in adjacent sectors such as architecture interior design and property-related services.

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the senior leadership team. This is a dual-mandate role spanning day-to-day financial leadership of one operating entity as well as group-level M&A and acquisition activities. The successful candidate will report to both the Managing Director and the Group Founder depending on the scope of work
Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting
  • Oversee full-spectrum financial reporting across group entities P&L balance sheet and cash flow management.
  • Drive timely and accurate month-end quarter-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage statutory audit processes and liaise with external auditors tax agents and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore FRS IRAS requirements GST filings and all applicable regulations.
  • Oversee accounts payable accounts receivable payroll processing and working capital management.

M&A and Due Diligence
  • Lead financial due diligence on SME acquisition targets in sectors complementary to real estate.
  • Assess target company financials identify risks and provide structured investment recommendations.
  • Support deal structuring business valuation and post-acquisition financial integration.
  • Build financial models and scenario analyses to support acquisition decisions and negotiations.

Team Leadership & Business Partnering
  • Lead and develop a finance team of 3 to 4 staff setting clear performance objectives.
  • Implement and continuously improve finance processes internal controls and systems.
  • Act as a trusted financial business partner to both the MD and the Group Founder.
  • Support annual budgeting rolling forecasts and variance analysis across entities.

Treasury & Operations
  • Manage cash flow planning banking relationships and treasury operations.
  • Oversee working capital optimisation and capital allocation across the group.
  • Support the finance function through periods of change as the business scales via acquisition.
Requirements

Qualifications
  • CPA CA ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is preferred but not mandatory if M&A and deal experience is strong.
  • Degree in Accountancy Finance or a related discipline.

Experience
  • Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant finance experience with at least 3 years in a Financial Controller or equivalent senior finance leadership role.
  • Hands-on M&A experience financial due diligence deal structuring or post-acquisition integration is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working in or closely with SMEs is strongly preferred given the nature of acquisition targets.
  • Background in real estate architecture interior design construction engineering or adjacent property-related sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in a lean founder-led or entrepreneurial business environment will be highly regarded.
