Health Educator – Parramatta

UNE Partnerships is seeking a passionate Health Educator to deliver engaging nationally recognised training to Year 11 and 12 students completing their HLT33021 Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance as part of our VET in Schools program.

The Opportunity

Based in schools in Western Sydney and wider our Year 11 & 12 students are completing the HLT33021 course as part of their HSC studies. This is more than just a training role it is an opportunity to genuinely impact the lives of young people by helping students discover meaningful career pathways in Allied Health and Community Services.

The Educator delivers weekly learning content and assessment guidance sessions in a classroom environment during school terms and is available for individual support via phone email and online during agreed hours.

The ideal candidate will bring with them a blend of training delivery and relevant health industry experience. We welcome applicants from a diverse range of health discipline areas including but not limited to nursing allied health and general practice.

What we offer:

• Location: Flexible on a hybrid working arrangement work from home when not working at the schools. Successful candidate must be willing to travel to our schools across Western Sydney.
• Work type: Permanent Full time (Part Time 3 days/wk considered)
• Appointment commencing: Immediate.
• Salary: The salary for this role is $89000 FTE per annum plus super plus Motor Vehicle Allowance.

What youll be doing:

• Deliver engaging vocational education and training to learners through weekly face-to-face workshops using our proven curriculum
• Assessing student work with constructive feedback that builds confidence and competence
• Providing personalised support via phone email and online platforms to ensure every student succeeds
• Developing tailored Learning Support Plans for students with diverse needs
• Proactively connecting with at-risk students to help them overcome barriers and stay on track
• Support mentor and inspire students throughout their learning journey
• Supporting students while they are undertaking work placement
• Collaborating with school staff and the UNE Partnerships team to create seamless learning experiences
• Travel to partner schools across Sydney and attend Health Hub locations as required
• Engage with industry partners and workplaces including trainee visits and collaboration opportunities that support positive student outcomes
• Complete administrative and compliance tasks including assessment marking and maintaining accurate training records
• Represent UNEP through school engagement activities career expose and trainer upskilling

Essential Qualifications:

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116) and/or a higher qualification in the field of Adult or Vocational Education
• Vocational or tertiary qualifications in a relevant allied or primary health discipline
• Industry experience in a relevant health care setting
• Current NSW Working With Childrens Check (WWCC)
• Ability to successfuly complete an Australian Federal Police Check

Highly Desirable:

• Experience in delivery and assessment of VET programs
• Competency in using Learning Management Systems (such as Moodle) and video conferencing or virtual classroom systems (such as Teams)
• Demonstrated understanding of engagement strategies for diverse learners
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate.

Additional Information

This hybrid role services partner schools across Sydney and the Central Coast. Ideally you will be based in Western Sydney as the role includes regular travel across this region. A car allowance will be provided.
