How youll contribute
A Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA)who excels in this role:
- Provides direct assistance to the surgeon(s) during surgical procedures.
- Positions patients to give best exposure for surgical procedures using stabilizing equipment when necessary while maximizing patient comfort and safety.
- Provides visualization of the operative site using appropriate methods including manipulation of tissue and materials retraction sponging suctioning and irrigation.
- Utilizes appropriate techniques to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis.
- Assists with body plane closure application of wound dressings and securing of drainage systems.

What were looking for
Applicants should have a current Arizona Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting and Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required. Associates Degree Preferred. Minimum of 1 year of CSFA experience required.
Additional requirements include:
- Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
- Required Skills:Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Licenses:Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Education:Associate degree Preferred; Graduate of a Program in Discipline Required
- Experience:Minimum of 1 year of CSFA experience required.
