Whats the role

Youll be part of a specialised team that keeps a close eye on how communications and trading activity are conducted across our Institutional Banking Financial Markets and Treasury businesses. Using digital surveillance tools youll review and analyse data to identify potential risks and make sure everything is operating in line with regulatory requirements.

Day to day youll investigate alerts review communications and work through complex information to form clear balanced views. Youll also contribute to improving how surveillance processes and systems work helping the team stay current in a fast-moving environment.

Youll collaborate with teams across compliance risk technology and the wider business to understand issues and drive outcomes. This is a full-time/permanent role based in Sydney where youll play an important part in protecting the integrity of our financial markets operations.

What do I need

Youll bring a curious mindset strong judgement and an interest in understanding how markets and risk operate.

  • Sound understanding of financial markets trading activity and regulatory requirements (Essential)
  • Experience in data analytics and surveillance systems within a banking or financial services environment (Advantageous)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information identify potential risks and use Alteryx effectively (Desirable)
  • Strong communication skills with confidence engaging a broad range of stakeholders
  • A proactive detail-oriented approach with a willingness to learn and continuously improve processes
