Summary:
Tjuntjuntjara is a small remote Aboriginalcommunity on the Spinifex Lands in the Great Victoria Desert of WesternAustralia. Paupiyala Tjarutja Aboriginal Corporation (PTAC) delivers a widerange of essential and community services including the Community StoreResource Centre Womens Centre Indigenous Sport and Recreation YouthServices Environmental Health municipal services mechanics workshop theCommunity Development Program and Spinifex Health Services. Tjuntjuntjara isthe main population centre across 55000 sq km of Native Title land.
The Role:
We are seeking a motivated AssistantYouth and Kids Worker to support the delivery of youth andchildrens programs in the remote community of Tjuntjuntjara on the Spinifex Lands.
Working under the guidance of the Youth and Kids Co-ordinator this rolehelps create safe inclusive andengaging programs for children and young people that promotesocial and emotional wellbeing resilience cultural connection and lifeskills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with delivery of youth sportsrecreation and school holiday program
- Help plan and run activities for children andyoung people
- Encourage participation in wellbeing lifeskills and recreational activities
- Build positive relationships with young people
- Support safe and inclusive program environments
- Maintain attendance records and assist withreporting
- Work collaboratively with community services andstaff
About You:
Essential
Certificate III in Youth Work Community Services Individual Support Early Childhood or similar (or working towards) Experience working with children or young people Strong communication and teamwork skills Basic computer skills (Word Excel) Ability to live and work in a remote community
Desirable Experience working with Aboriginal communities Pitjantjatjara language skills or willingness to learn Cultural safety training
Mandatory Requirements National Police Clearance (within 2 years) WA Working With Children Check Current Manual Drivers Licence First Aid Certificate Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Australian work rights
The salary offered is $59.71 (inclusive of 25% Casual Loading) per hour exclusive of superannuation. As a not-for-profit PTAC offerssalary packaging which can boost yourtake-home pay by reducing taxable income.
The role includes travel costs and free accommodation and utilities within community.
